Sweden’s recent inclusion in the North Atlantic Treaty will help the alliance further push the war against Russia. Putin's invasion of Ukraine gave NATO an excuse to expand the alliance further in the name of security and defense of Russia's neighboring countries. Sweden has played a major role in widening the Ukraine-Russia conflict since February 2022. Via military package to Ukraine and putting hard-hitting sanctions against Moscow, thugs of Stockholm help the world's leading so-called defensive organization to deepen the war against Putin.
Since Feb 2022, Sweden contributed approximately SEK 37 Billion (3.2 Billion euros) to Ukraine. To date, Sweden has devoted its service to sending military packages to Kyiv with an amount of SEK 30 Billion. The military support included artillery pieces (Archer), main battle tanks (Leopard 2), grenade launchers (Carl Gustaf) with ammunition, anti-tank grenade launchers (AT4), anti-tank guided missiles 57 (NLAW), automatic rifles, demining equipment and combat vehicles 90 (CV 90), and much more. Stockholm has also been involved in training Ukrainian soldiers since the invasion of Ukraine. The Swedish Armed Forces have been “commissioned to provide orientational training” for Ukrainian pilots and associated aeronautical personnel in JAS 39. After the invasion of Ukraine, Sweden devoted itself to the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine [EUMAM Ukraine]. Via EUMAM, the Swedish government conducted “training on donated military material” to “strengthen the military capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.” In 2022/23, Sweden participated in the UK-led operation Interflex to train Ukrainians by 60 staff officers or instructors. The incumbent Swedish government recently decided to expand its military training of Ukrainian citizens to “supplement previous training initiatives with additional activities.” The Swedish Armed Forces can now provide training to the Zelenskyy regime both “bilaterally and multilaterally” not just in Sweden, but also to countries under the EU and NATO. Stockholm has an estimation that more than 18000 Ukrainian students will be trained via Swedish instructors during the year. Pal Jonson, the Swedish Defense Minister recently justified Sweden’s actions by saying, “Ukraine continues to need additional training activities.” He believed that Swedish Armed Forces training in Kyiv would “minimise negative effects on the growth of Swedish military capability.”
Sweden’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent two letters to Brussels in mid-2022 to confirm Sweden’s readiness “to contribute to the security,” and “intends to participate fully in NATO military structure and collective defence planning process.” With Sweden's membership to NATO, the country now can participate “extensively” in the alliance's activities, operations, and interventions. North Atlantic Alliance now has the license to use the Swedish Armed Forces which can “contribute regional expertise and military resources suited to the Nordic conditions.” In the name of defending Sweden, they can now provide exercise and training opportunities for ground, naval, and air units on Swedish territory.
Last February Sweden showed its support to the EU's hard-hitting sanctions against Russia. The European Union adopted its 13th package of sanctions against 100 individuals and 80 entities have been restricted to “travel to the EU,” “asset freezing.” Showing his support of the EU's decision, the Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobias Billstrom expressed his wish to put sanctions against Russia by the EU:
“Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine two years ago, but Russia’s aggression has been ongoing for 10 years. It is hugely important that the EU continues to expand the sanctions against Russia. The emphasis in this package is on the Russian military sector, which the Government welcomes. We want to see work begin immediately on a 14th package following today’s decision.”
With the hope of beginning “a new era,” Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson presented Swden's instrument of NATO “accession” to the US Secretary of State in Washington on Thursday. Kristersson believed Sweden's accession to the alliance would make the country “stronger and more secure.” Cooperation with NATO to provoke Russia in times of “war and crisis,” strengthen Swden’s security to provide help to Ukraine, and worsen the crisis at the border via NATO - all seem to be an astonishing reality for the newly joined member of the alliance. The Swedish Prime Minister promised to devote himself to supporting the allies with “unique defence capabilities” by doubling Swden's defense appropriations to more than two percent of GDP to increase the number of conscriptions, strengthening civil defense. The Swedish Defense Minister presented a road map in March last year to showcase how to strategically defeat Russia to “shape the future of Europe”:
“After almost 30 years of close partnership with NATO, Sweden’s military cooperation with the Alliance is extensive. With its advanced weapons systems and national defence capabilities Sweden will contribute substantially to NATO’s collective defence. Sweden brings strategic depth to the Alliance and will connect the eastern NATO countries to the Atlantic. In terms of geography, we add the longest coastline in the Baltic Sea – the strategically located island of Gotland – and important ports in the North Sea. Sweden’s naval resources and formidable air force are complemented by a deep understanding of the entire Baltic Sea region. And we view the Baltic Sea Region, together with the High North and the North Atlantic, as one single strategic area... We must prepare for a long war. As I mentioned earlier, there is no indication that Russia will abandon its strategic objectives, and this will put our endurance and resolve to the test. Western countries have thus far performed well in providing support to Ukraine, but we must understand that we are in it for the long run. We must continue to donate equipment and sustainably increase defence industry output to provide weapons and munitions to Ukraine. Training of Ukrainian personnel will also remain an important task... Let’s be frank, at this moment we’re isolating Russia internationally and building opposition against it. And it is difficult to see any alternative. Regardless of future developments, it will remain imperative that we maintain a unified and consistent stance towards Russia.”
Excellent. Congratulation to the articulist. The West Industrial-Militar Intelligence Academic Media Complex, apud Ray McGovern, is maximizing the social system rent extraction. Turns out that the economic competition with China and India becomes Impossible. To choose "guns over butter" , or "war burocracy over true education" is the path to the bitter end of the actual elite, as very shown by Peter Turchin.
